Financial Assistance to Needy Poor
To assist financially based on its annual surplus and responding to the motto "for the people, of the people and by the people" SSS selects felt needy families every year, who are poorest of the poor and use support them in a creative way for their long run livelihood sustainability.
Creche Centre Program
SSS is running four centres in four different villages under West district of Sikkim in collaboration with Central Social Welfare Board.
In Sikkim most of the women use to keep themselves busy in hard work to survive their livelihood as well as the widow, they don't have any other option against such system as they are to diverted from their joint families border once they lost their husband. It becomes tough for her to maintain her children survive at all the level for their development & upliftment somehow. With the breaking up of join family system and the increasing number of nuclear families, working women need support in terms of quality, substitute care for their children basically while they are at work. On the other hand such Creche centre is not only in the mean for working mother but also it provide its efforts to some families belong to poor, who definitely require support and relief for the children as they also use to struggle to cope with burden of activity, within and outside the home. With this initiative of SSS and CSWB, the targeted parents of creche students have been made free from the burden of providing food and taking care of their early hood education. They are quite satisfied that the child is in safe hand and would certainly foster a good beginning.
The Youth leadership training program was established by SSS in the year 1994. This program has a unique syllabus. Not only does the Youth Leadership Training Program focus on personal development and communication skills. Through stress-reducing breathing techniques, individuals find inner peace and communities to come together in a spirit of service. Participants are inspired to volunteer for rural projects, and the fruits of the seeds sown in the classroom can be experienced by the community as a whole. Apart from this, realizing the key trouble shooting ability of the youth to be engaged in the community development tasks, SSS always use to try motivate them all the way and makes their ability professional, Remarkable numbers of youth volunteers joined with its effort in community development as of today. They are confident themselves about to serve their people proper way and they are voluntarily motivating and guiding the coming generation as their basic target group who are about to destroy their lives having alcoholism, drug, tobacco addiction, etc. rather to go with education and proper knowledge ahead for occupying the place as future country asset. On the other hand SSS conducts Youth Leadership & Personality development awareness program regularly among the people of Sikkim every year to increase the numbers of youth Volunteers for work on community issues jointly and forcefully in different places.
Mobilizing local educated youth and women, letting them play role on multi community development tasks
This is the effort to engage the local and educated youth together with the women expecting their volunteering enthusiasm spirit in multi community issues to be developed in consultation with the organization towards proper cooperation and guidance to serve our community better way ahead in the long run. The NGO use to build their capacity in development sector professionally, providing need base training to let them initiate their effort confidently by themselves sometime at their level.
To facilitated smooth communication services for the most interior population who are really use to fight and needy to reach proper location of network for maintenance of their daily life. In rural and interior places of Sikkim, roads/footpaths are generally laying closed due to huge sliding of rock and land, which are neglected to clear by even the concern government department. It is not the intention to blame any department here as they use to do so at their level in mostly important and connected ways ignoring such rural areas, which is also important at the same to keep facilitating people for maintaining good communication. As a voluntary organization we do respect our most neglected people who live in rural and interior areas to be facilitated for betterment of the community as a whole in our state by way of cleaning such roads at its own level as well as provides construction materials to renovate village footpaths, public water tank, toilet etc. time to time as a regular activity every year.
